Well well...actually i didn't want to continue this blog while starting a new one with another name, but now it's come to another post.
Some very delicious records in the ambient and psychedelic chill area I have here:
Shulman - Endless Rhythms Of The Beatless Heart (2007)
An eclectic musician from Israel can turn music into beautiful Dörnröschen castles and landscapes with his unique style. He mixes modern electronic music engineering technology with traditional hebraic and indian worldmusic, sometimes in a dub fashion and sometimes interwaved in ethereal athmospheres.

Kattoo - Hang On To A Dream (2005)
This german guy is very adroit in making sinister and experimental soundtrack-like ambient. Especially this album could be the soundtrack to a horror/thriller without dialogues. Picture it yourself!

Pagaa (final beta version)
I've been editing some psytrance track from a friend, after i had heard some japanese noise that could fit very well, and it did indeed!
I like it myself...it's dark, noisy and chaotic night trance....
enjoy

Freak Folk - a phenomenon of a different kind
What do Animal Collective, Paavoharju, Kiila, Espers, Islaja, Kuupuu, Lau Nau, Larkin Grimm, Feathers, Chalarambides, Kemialliset Ystävät, Wooden Wand, Joanna Newsom, Devendra Banhart, Espers, Larissa Nadler, Fursaxa, Avarus, Faun Fables, First Nation, Panda Bear & Avey Tare, Pumajaw, Apothecary Hymns, Al Green, Herman Düne, Regina Spector, Kimya Dawson, Diane Cluck, Jana Hunter, The Skygreen Leopard, Double Leopard and CocoRosie have in common?
These are all names of artists of whom could be said that they are in a closer or wider sense are part of the freak folk movement.
Freak folk is actually a very loose definition of music that varies from simple singer-songwriter acoustic guitar stuff to noisy and avant-garde-like experimental rock. Devendra Banhart and CocoRosie are the most famous deputees from an open music genre that actually has no borders. Everything that does make a sound is used creatively to experiment within the sounds of the universe. It's like a second generation movement of the 70s hippies, but more future-oriented and with a clear artistical main goal of making music together. Psychedelic and athmospherical drone background, avant-garde ideas and concepts, are often used to contribute to a proper sound. Either free singing or philosophic lyrics make every record to an unique world of music.
Since I fell in love with this music I have found many delightful and tasty records from which collection i'll every now and then publish here the cream of the crop of contemporary freak music.
A few good samples i'll already drop:
Akron/Family - Akron/Family

Mostly slow and mellow voices on dreamy guitar melodies...i love it.
CocoRosie
CocoRosie's sound is a really good sample of freaky folk with a beautiful timbre of dream castles and unicorns in a fantastic trance state. Human Beat Boxing, two very special female voices, electronic beats and instruments for children and even a harp are ear-catching gadgets for two cute ladies from the US.
Noah's Ark

La Maison De Mon Rêve

Devendra Banhart
I really recommend him to curious people who would love to discover freaky folk music. He has a special voice and an own style of songwriting. I really love it!

Google - the net's best tool
As the worlds most used and the internet's best search engine, Google does have many very useful search codes. With simple and short terms you can search whole web server directories for any filetype you look for.
Today, many people share their music directories and make them, if intentionally or not, available to the public search machines and thus to everybody.
With the following search code you can easily search for mp3s on public directories:
intitle:"index.of" name.word.word (filetype1|filetyle2|filetype3)
The operator 'intitle' gives the search engine the order to look for the expression "index.of" within the title of any documents in the web. And since any site does have an index which keeps information about the directory of the used webspace. You then can further specify what you are looking for in indicating the requested filetypes and lastly also the name of the artist or album. If you put a dot (.) in between the words google doesn't care if there is a space, underline or hyphen in the filename and there will be more search results.
Have fun, because there are so many unprotected directories out there with many popular and unpopular music in mp3/mp4/wmv format available in two or three clicks.

Mochipet!
Mochipet - Girls Love Breakcore
Girls who like this record must be very hard in their core...and have to love chaotically messy and irritating breaks and hardcore kicks. Not a single track from does not have the suffix "core" in it...after Justin Timberlakecore there is Botan Ricecore, Bejing Operacore, Wafflecore, Tumbacore, Laffy Taffy Core. Stupi/satisfactory record I must say!

Mochipet - Combat
An amazingly stupid mashup/remix CD from this japanese breakcore/elektro freak with a great sense for strange noises and stuff. It's noisy and dadaistic mashup-core shit nobody wants to listen to! I was just recorded to annoy your ears...
